Full bloom

"Holy Baby Cave, Batman!!"

This is where our little girl sleeps. Now before ya'll call Child Services, let me explain. Yes, she's sleeping on the floor, but she's comfortably surrounded by blanket upon blanket. You see, Austin started building Geneve a crib for Christmas, but then Managerial Economics and Statistics happened. The crib has been sitting in storage ever since, waiting for a sanding job and a coat of mahogany-tinted polyurethane. When school gets out in 3 weeks, Austin will finish it. Until then, Geneve shall remain in her little Bat Cave.

(Funny story: two nights ago, I was awakened at 3:30 am by the sound of baby coos coming from Geneve's room. I walked in and found a vacant Bat Cave. After a moment's panic, I found its former occupant under the stroller, about 18 inches away- you can actually see the wheel in the bottom right corner. How an immobile 6-month old baby managed to shimmy out of the impenetrable Bat Cave, I'll never know.)

"Mommy, can I get out of this blasted contraption now?"

Faith is like a...

Ever wanna learn about faith?
Plant a garden.

Gardening is a religious experience, an unspoken sermon on a vital gospel principle.

Austin's birthday

Austin and I have a tradition for birthdays: we don't believe in excessive gift giving (excluding the latest expansion pack of Dominion)-- we prefer to make memories. Now, throw in the element of surprise, and it makes for GREAT birthday celebrations!

I managed to smuggle Randy and Trudi up here without Austin knowing, which is quite a feat (for those who know Austin well, please knod in accord). We planned out a fun weekend for him that included a chocolate/peanut butter cake, a picnic by the Snake River, a trip to the Bodies Exhibit, dinner at the Olive Garden, and a jar of Nutella.

Happy 1/4 of a Century, my dear Grapefruit! Je t'aime comme j'aime le pamplemousse.

My shameless plug

Yep, this is me promoting my business, Andelin Photo and Design. The "Design" aspect was recently added after I discovered that I enjoy graphic design. If you know anyone who's getting married, graduating, or having babies, send them my way!

Memorial Day weekend

My family came up to Idaho for Memorial Day Weekend. Despite the lousy weather, we had fun. Here are some pics:

We went to Big Judd's Diner for lunch on Saturday. Big Judd's is famous for their 1 lb. hamburgers (they were actually featured on TLC's "Man vs. Food"). Justin and Bradley successfully ate one without vomiting.

Idaho has experienced a lot of floods lately, so Grandma's field flooded. Kim couldn't resist an opportunity to get dirty.
