Happy Halloween!

Austin and I actually decided to dress up this year. Neither of us have ever been die-hard Halloweeners, but having a kid sort of changes your mind about these kinds of things... Austin felt such a dramatic change of heart that he was even willing to wear a skirt (my skirt) to pull off the Roman soldier/gladiator thing he had going on. I dressed up as a Grecian goddess (yes, Grecian is a word; it refers to ancient Greece, whereas the word Greek is used when describing modern Greece). Geneve was a fairy, but for the sake of matching we told everyone that she was a Grecian muse :-)

A summer recap...

Summer has gone by too fast. When doesn't Summer go by too fast? Here's a recap of what we've done during our 7-week break:

On July 4th, we went up to Mesa Falls with some friends for a picnic...

Austin completed a 11-mile hike up Table Rock with friends from Church. You can see the Grand Tetons in the background. Good job my SWEETIE!!

Geneve got a new high chair, but she much prefers the box it came in...

We've been introducing Geneve to all kinds of new food.

Full bloom

"Holy Baby Cave, Batman!!"

This is where our little girl sleeps. Now before ya'll call Child Services, let me explain. Yes, she's sleeping on the floor, but she's comfortably surrounded by blanket upon blanket. You see, Austin started building Geneve a crib for Christmas, but then Managerial Economics and Statistics happened. The crib has been sitting in storage ever since, waiting for a sanding job and a coat of mahogany-tinted polyurethane. When school gets out in 3 weeks, Austin will finish it. Until then, Geneve shall remain in her little Bat Cave.

(Funny story: two nights ago, I was awakened at 3:30 am by the sound of baby coos coming from Geneve's room. I walked in and found a vacant Bat Cave. After a moment's panic, I found its former occupant under the stroller, about 18 inches away- you can actually see the wheel in the bottom right corner. How an immobile 6-month old baby managed to shimmy out of the impenetrable Bat Cave, I'll never know.)

Aww... our narcoleptic baby

"Mommy, can I get out of this blasted contraption now?"

Faith is like a...

Ever wanna learn about faith?
Plant a garden.

Gardening is a religious experience, an unspoken sermon on a vital gospel principle.
